2026 VEGETABLE CSA SUBSCRIPTION JOIN Here! Why join our CSA? Enjoy eating seasonal, local, and chemical free produce! Learn about seasonality through food! Expand your cooking repertoire with quality ingredients and recipes handpicked for each vegetable! Know that your dollars are supporting a family farm in your community, keeping your investment local. Our farm is proudly small scale, meaning we - Mikey and Erin (and now little Arlo!) - are your farmers along with a couple of other part-time community members. Invest in the care of 122 acres of greenspace! Promote sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices for soil and water health and the most nutrients possible in your food! What are my options for signing up? We offer two CSA experiences for your enjoyment! We offer a traditional CSA that is a curated box of veggies that are in abundance and peak freshness, and we offer a market card for those who would like to select their veggies weekly at one of our two farmers market locations. There are pros and cons to each - with the traditional model, the guesswork is taken out for you and you get to go on a culinary adventure of discovery! With the market card, you get to select what you like and take it home! Both benefit us through your investment in the farm - the dollars you spend now, at the beginning of the season, go directly towards purchasing seeds, materials for starting seeds, fuel for the tractor, and wages for us during the leanest sales time of the season. It really takes the burden off of us to get things going at the beginning of the season so that we can grow the best of the best for you! Read on for more details! Veggie CSA Details Our vegetable CSA is a weekly box of the best of what's growing on our farm. We choose 7 -10 veggies and deliver them to conveniently located pickup spots throughout the city. You'll get salad and leafy greens in the spring, tomatoes and beans in the summer, root veggies and squash in the fall, and much more! It's a seasonal tasting tour of Kentucky that lasts up to 30 weeks, from the first of May to the end of November. We also have a limited number of egg shares available from our small flock of free-range chickens that are fed non-GMO soy-free food. We have two seasonal options: Regular Season - 21 weeks of veggies, starting May 6 through September 30. Extended Season - 28 weeks of veggies, starting May 6 through November 18. A note on our calendar - We take a break the first two weeks of August to give ourselves time to rest and reset the farm for fall and winter plantings. How much does each option cost ? Regular Season - 21 weeks at $26/week, for a total of $588 for the season if paid up-front. We offer a 5% discount if you pay in full before April 1, 2026! Extended Season - 28 weeks at $26/week, for a total of $780 for the season. We offer a 5% discount if you pay in full before April 1, 2026! SNAP/EBT Subscription - $25 per box, billed weekly. Can I get eggs, too? We offer an add on share that includes one dozen eggs per week. $210 for the extended season and $157.50 for the regular season (this equals $7.50/dozen). If you would like eggs less frequently, you can add them to your box from the online store on a weekly basis. How can I pay? Preferred method - checks mailed to us! Or cash at the farmers market! This saves everyone on credit card fees, which really add up. Debit/credit card - This is an option at checkout when you sign up. We will add a fee to cover those costs on your invoice. SNAP/EBT - Select this form of payment on the signup form and we will follow up with more details on how we are able to accept this form of payment. When and where do I pick up my box? On the farm in Eminence, KY! Come say hey to the cows and chickens and grab your CSA! Some wonderful friends of the farm host pickup sites around Louisville and Prospect on Wednesdays: Crescent Hill Original Highlands Prospect We also host pickups at our farmers markets on Saturdays: Original Bardstown Road Farmer's Market New Albany Farmer's Market Pickup at all Wednesday locations start after 5pm. Farmer's Market pickups are on Saturday from 9am - 12pm. Market Card Details We're super excited for this offering. Ever since we began running a CSA years ago, we have had folks ask for more customization of their share. We are a small operation - just the two of us that are full time with 2-3 part time folks during the height of the growing season - and we just don't have the capacity to do a fully customized share for every customer (and just worth noting, this is an intentional choice! To grow our business larger means a move away from the intentionality and specialization that we are able to put behind what we grow. Our goal has never been to be the Kroger clicklist of organic farms!). So, we are offering a debit card style program for use at our farmers market booths! The idea is that you still pay in advance as with the regular CSA, helping us with the costs we have for the season. In return, we will mail you a debit/gift card before the start of the CSA season that you can use to shop at the market. You pick out the veggies you want and pay with the card. How it works: You buy what is essentially a gift card from us. When you click the link "Join Here" at the top of this page, it will take you to a Google Form to sign up. On that form, you will click that you want the Market Card, and how much you would like loaded on that card. We will mail you a card before the start of the season in May that you will use at the market when you make your produce selections. You will come to either market location (you can shop at either with the card!) and pick out the produce that you want that week. When paying, present your card and we will swipe it to deduct the value of the produce. You will not have a prepacked bag of produce - you will select everything yourself! If you miss a week, no big deal! Your balance rolls over week to week. However, all balances will expire on November 1, 2026 so you will want to spend your balance before then! You can track your balance online as you would any gift card. Other Considerations CSA shares and Market Cards are non-refundable. If you choose to end your subscription early, you can transfer the remainder of your shares or your market card to a friend of family member, and the details of that transfer will need to be managed by you. All Market Card balances expire on November 1, 2026. You can of course still shop the market, but we will not accept Market Cards after that date. We cannot guarantee any specific produce items for you! We bring as much produce as we think we can sell to the market each week, with the intention of selling all of it! Some items move fast (i.e. the first tomatoes of the season, lettuce mix, carrots). We will do our best to communicate each week what we intend to bring, but we suggest you arrive early if you have specific items that you want. Additional details about the CSA will be sent once you sign up, but please reach out with any questions. Thank you for choosing us to be your farmers!

Interested? Here's more info about how it works! Every other week, you will be able to order from our online store using pre-loaded credit. We use GrownBy, an app developed by a cooperative of farmers to function as an online CSA store. This store will have your available credit loaded and you can shop any of our available items using that credit. Items include seasonal vegetables, eggs, beef, poultry, pork, lamb, dairy and more! The store opens on Sat urday afternoon and closes on Monday at midnight. Your order is delivered on We dnesday to Louisville and surrounding areas, or available for pi ckup on Saturday at our farmers market locations. Payment in advance to establish credit on Grownby (as compared to a regular online store) really helps us! An online market is great, but the reason the Full Diet is so beneficial for farmers is because it is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)! It requires a lot from us financially to begin the growing season. Seeds, potting soil, compost, baby chicks that will grow up to lay eggs, animal feed, tools that need repaired or replaced, all on top of our normal bills - it adds up. Historically, farmers took out short term bank loans every spring, or had credit with stores, to cover these costs. This put them at significant financial liability every single year, because oftentimes the only assets of a farm business are its land and equipment. By paying up front instead of order to order, you are saying "I trust you to grow my food this year. Here's some cash for the start up costs." And we in turn feed you all season! Think of it as an investment in us to grow your food. This is true even if you choose to do monthly payments - it helps us to know the cash flow and participation we can expect month to month as well. We deliver to a pick-up hub or your house. Options for deliv ery and hub pickup include: Wednesday Home Delivery between 4-7p (includes a $10 per delivery fee) Wednesday Hubs pickup Prospect - Covered Bridge Farms neighborhood Crescent Hill - Reservoir Park neighborhood Saturday Hubs Bardstown Road Farmers Market 9-12p New Albany Farmers Market 8-12p On Farm Pickup on Wednesdays, anytime after 3pm We have two season lengths to choose from: The Extended season runs from May 7 - November 26 . The delivery dates are as follows: May 7, 21; June 4, 18; July 2, 16, 30; August 20; September 3, 17; October 1, 15, 29; November 12, 26, for a total of 15 deliveries. The Regular season runs from June 18 - October 29. The delivery dates are as follows: June 18; July 2, 16, 30; August 20; September 3, 17; October 1, 15, 29 for a total of 10 deliveries.' Y ou pay for your CSA based on household size. Y ou can always add more credit if you order beyond the initial household size recommendations! Have questions? Here are some FAQ's answered below , but if you have others please email us at boxcaracres@gmail.com ! What kind of vegetables can I expect? One of the most exciting things about participating in a CSA is the opportunity to learn to eat seasonally. The beginning of the season brings a lot of greens - kale, lettuces, spinach , cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and roots like carrots and beets. As we move into summer there are often still those veggies plus tomatoes, squash, beans, peppers, corn, eggplant, and melons! As we move into fall, we often still have summer vegetables long into October, plus a return of all of the greens and roots of spring, winter squash, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. It really is a full tour of the availability of seasonal produce - a farmers market delivered straight to you! Are you organic? We, and all of our partner farmers, grow vegetables and raise livestock in ways that we feel are best for people and the planet. We are not certified organic by the USDA, and while we would consider it in the future, right now we find the cost and paperwork just don't make sense for us. However, we grow using methods that we call organic equivalent - we (and our partners) do not use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, and all of our practices center around regenerative agriculture to improve the health of the soil, provide space for pollinators, and maintain water health on and around the farm. We are very proud of the way we grow our food and the difference it makes in growing nutrient dense foods for ourselves and our customers! I'm going out of town for work/vacation. Can I skip a delivery ? If you know you will be out of town for a delivery, please let us know as soon as possible (at least one week!) so that we can plan accordingly. Options include: Prorating your CSA rate. We are only able to do this once during the season. If you are going to miss more than one delivery, you can: Ordering more on the delivery before you leave or after you return. Again, please let us know as soon as possible so that we know that's what you're planning to do! Giving it to a friend! We've had lots of "guest CSA members" over the years that step in to take over someone's order that is out of town. It's always a treat for them! My kids don't eat that much. Do I actually need to include them? We find that our pricing structure works very well for most families, so we ask that you include any child over 3 when signing up for the CSA. If you are regularly underordering during the season we can make adjustments. What if I don't know how to cook some of the vegetables? We send a newsletter with every order form that includes information about new vegetables offered that week, as well as suggestions about how to cook some of the more unique vegetables. And, if you ever have questions about how to cook something, we're here for you! We are avid home cooks and love to share our love of vegetables! O ther questions? Please don't hesitate to shoot us an email at boxcaracres@gmail.com We look forward to feeding your family! Full Diet Pricing Guide First adult: $130/delivery Second adult: $100/delivery Each child aged 4-17: $25/delivery

- WHAT IS CSA | Boxcar Acres
What is COmmunity Supported Agriculture (CSA)? 1. A GRASSROOTS SYSTEM OF FUNDING LOCAL AGRICULTURE Community-supported agriculture is an annual purchase of stock in the farm. In exchange for defraying the initial operation costs, such as seeds and farm supplies, shareholders receive dividends in a portion of the weekly yield of the farm. Consumers get better value and consistency than at the farmers market, because as investors in our business you are our first priority. CSA is a season-long commitment to healthy eating, to local business, and to small farmers. 2. A STAKE IN THE SUCCESS OF THE FARM A CSA subscription offers the potential for a healthier lifestyle with a reduced environmental impact. By eating locally and seasonally, you have access to produce at its freshest that has been grown with sustainable and restorative practices for the soil. And often at a lower cost than organic produce from a grocery store! 3. A LINK BETWEEN PRODUCER AND CONSUMER With farm visits, email newsletters, and weekly pickups, shareholders forge a relationship with farm and farmers that goes beyond economics. Follow what's happening on the farm, try our favorite recipes, and engage with local food in a more meaningful and personal way.

- MEET YOUR FARMERS | Boxcar Acres
MEET YOUR FARMERS Hi! We're Mikey and Erin, and together we run Boxcar Acres, a small, organic-equivalent vegetable growing operation in Henry County, KY. We met in 2016 while Mikey was apprenticing with Field Day Family Farm in Louisville, KY and Erin worked for the farm education non-profit located on the same farm. After another apprenticeship at a vegetable farm on Vashon Island, WA in 2017, Mikey decided to return to his hometown and begin his own growing operation. Erin joined him as a full time farmer in 2020. We spent a lot of time looking for our forever farm! We moved our farm 5 times in 5 years looking for land that was just right for our dream farming operation. In 2021 we were truly blessed with the opportunity to purchase our own space in Henry County, KY. This truly special place has hosted many caretakers before us and it is our goal to foster a relationship between soil, water, biodiversity, and our own hard work to build a beautiful place that grows nutrient dense, delicious food for our customers, friends, and family. Our farming practices follow the principles of organic farming. We do not use synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or other chemicals on our crops, and we use best practices like crop rotation, manual pest removal, cover crop, minimal tillage, and other regenerative practices to grow food in a way that is best for people and the planet. Our passion is growing delicious, nutritious food for our community. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be your farmers!
